16" Antique Handwerck Bisque Head Doll - Mold 109

Description

This little Handwerck blondie is quite charming in her navy blue and white gingham dress. She has a country girl look to her. I’m downsizing my collection and wish to find her a new home.
She has a bisque head on a jointed composition body. The face is beautifully painted with subtle coloring of facial features. The feathered eyebrows, painted eyelashes, nostrils and corners of the eyes as well as her pretty little bow-like mouth are expertly done. The creamy blushing shows off those chubby cheeks down to the double chin with the dimple. She has large glass, blue eyes that sleep. Her mouth is open showing 4 teeth. Her blonde mohair wig and pate are replacements. There is a small imperfection on the inner corner of the left eye which looks like a repair. But it does not detract from her presence. She displays very well.
The composition body is in good condition with normal wear and tear at the joints, minor paint loss and some discoloration to the finish which is common for antique dolls. There is a hole between the pinky finger and the ring finger on the right hand, possibly a bubble created during the manufacturing process.
Her costume is in excellent condition. She wears a navy & white gingham dress (home-sewn) and a vintage navy straw-woven hat that I added after I purchased her. The hat is embellished with modern millinery. The undergarments consist of a white cotton full slip with ruffled trim and cotton pantalets. She wears white rayon socks, and a pair of black shoes (replacements) with a single strap that snaps close. The locket she wears is a little big for her and was added later. I will send it along and you can do with it as you please. She will come with a doll stand.
She is marked on the back of the head: 109 – 7 ½ and an
H
at the bottom of the neck. Please see photos as they show the details much better that I can describe.

I charge a small handling fee to help with the cost of shipping materials used when packing dolls.
