- 1958 Cordial Music Co. 9" x 12". 4 pages. Music and lyrics to the outer space pop classic. Purple-tone cartoon/photo cover.
"The Purple People Eater" was a novelty song, written and performed by Sheb Wooley, that reached #1 in the Billboard pop charts in 1958. It obviously capitalized on the science fiction & flying saucer craze of the 1950s.
Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/scuff/edge wear. Mild surface creasing. There are two name stamps on cover art. No tears or separations.
We feel this is a very displayable example by most standards (see photos).
