    Description

Antique Post Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots Sz. 4(?)
Up for auction is a fantastic pair of Antique Post-Edwardian Period Black Leather Lace Up Boots that look small enough to be a US 4. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows:
    42 3179C98 3/2
. The leather is in immaculate condition with no rips, creases, or tears, but there are dents and storage blemishes around the toe tips. The leather is thick, soft, and supple. There is very nice leather punch work on the curved capped toes. All of the external seam work is intact and solid. The rear leather banding that binds the shafts together from the shoe line to the high tops is in a deteriorating condition, particularly seen in the right boot.
The inside cotton twill lining is in near new condition with some age darkening. There is no ripping, tearing, or wear through. The internal seam work is intact with no separation. The leather insoles are new like and both have full wool/felt heel pads that look brand new. The leather banding across the high tops and along the eyelets look brand new. There are 18 external eyelets to lace up. The leather tongues are in new condition and have full black satin or velvet backing on them.
The bottom leather soles have hardly any wear on them and are thick, with a lot of scratches and gouging from probably rough or improper storage. The wooden Cuban heels are very solid and in new-like condition having all of the leather caps on them. Due to the small size, these boots would work best as to be used for décor and display purposes only.
