The open part of the frame can be adjusted in or out to accommodate the length of your scooter.
This unit slides into a class II or class III 2" hitch. A hitch pin is included with this lift.

This lift automatically puts down a holding pad when there is a scooter present. The pad (shown above and in 2 pics below) can be adjusted to fit your specific scooter for holding pressure.

This sale includes the normally optional swing-away feature which allows access to the vehicle's rear storage space.

The pic above shows the extra safety pin (small diameter, silver with wire retainer) and the blue primary handle for releasing the swing-away arrangement.
The blue swing-away retaining pin is pulled out with the left hand as the right hand holds the raised platform and moves it slowly out of the way so the vehicles liftgate or tailgate can be then be used for loading items into the rear of the vehicle.
In the picture above the platform is starting its rotation to an open position.
The swing-away feature is
ONLY
used when the platform is empty. It is
NOT
designed to swing-away when a scooter is on the platform.
The key is simply and on/off power feature. It is a 2 position switch. The black, spring-loaded switch above the key is held down to lower the platform and once the scooter is on the lift the switch is held in the up position to raise the lift and scooter.
Pic above shows the platform on its way down.
Once the platform touches the ground RELEASE the down switch; do not let the lift continue downward or it will LIFT the car !
The red light is a safety feature to help cars behind you see you are using a lift on the rear of your vehicle.
The mfg wired this unit with two power cords. The cord at the top of the picture fits a standard two or 4 prong trailer wiring harness often on the back of a car with a 2" hitch. It provides the power to the red light and the license plate light on the motor housing.

The other 2 prong plugs provides the 12 volt power to the motor for lifting. It is hardwired into the motor. You will ALSO receive the female end of this connection as shown in picture below.
YOU will have to have the 12 volt wiring in your car one way or the other. I can answer questions about this through eBay mail or when you come to view or pickup this unit.
The blue arrow above points to the wiring already installed by the mfg on the unit.
The green arrow points to the female part of this wiring which will ALSO be provided to you by me. It is ready to hook up to the 12 volt wiring you may already have or will have installed in your vehicle. This wiring arrangement was done by the mfg, not by me.
