I believe that this is a good value, specially since I am also including a UV-pass/IR-block optical filter stack, making this a bargain UV starter kit! NOTE: Given that these lenses are of vintage design (from the 1950's!), even the better-condition specimens may exhibit minor imperfections attributed to lenses of such age, such as some tiny dust particles between the glass elements, for instance, or a few shallow coating abrasions on the rear-element glass but do not negatively impact image quality in any noticeable way (inconsequential). I only sell FUNCTIONAL specimens, regardless of their degree of prior use. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed, or you are welcome to ship these items back to me for a refund of the price.

    Description

    KYOEI / KURIBAYASHI (CLONE/VARIANT) 35mm F/3.5 UV LENS - T MOUNT VARIANT
    & TWO-FILTER BUNDLE
THE PERFECT UV-PHOTOGRAPHY STATER KIT, ADAPTABLE TO MANY CAMERA SYSTEMS!
    This is a variant (a T-mount version, and custom-labeled) of the much-famed Kyoei / Kuribayashi / Petri / Orikkor
of UV photography acclaimed reputation! This is a factory "clone" (does not contain the labeling/stamping on the front of the barrel), but for all intents and purposes, it is optically and mechanically similar to the original lens, coming off of the exact same assembly lines with the same parts. It exhibits comparable UV-transmission capabilities as the earlier fixed-mount variants (e.i. M42, Exakta, Nikon-F mounts), but instead uses a more adaptable T-mount design.
It is fairly durable (if well-cared for), however, I also carry in stock the even more durable and rarer original M42-mount design of this lens in my store, found here:
    273818719345
(Copy and paste this item # into the Ebay search box).
You can easily find a T-mount adapter to use this lens on your ILC (interchangeable-lens camera). These adapters are generally inexpensive, and quite common, usually costing around USD.
For additional system adaptability and flexibility, however, I highly recommend that you look into obtaining an "M42 Helicoid adapter", if you wish to gain variable close-focusing capability with this lens for dedicated macro work.
(Yes, despite the slight difference in "thread pitch", t-mount threading can be coupled to the threading of an M42-mount focusing helicoid adapter, as long as you screw in the lens partially, and do not over-twist once you feel substantial resistance in the coupling of the two interfaces. This may not be the most elegant solution, but it is quite secure, effective, and provides you with a greater degree of focusing range/adaptability; Adding macro-capability to the lens!)
Feel free to contact me, and inquire of which range type (in millimeters) of M42-mount focusing helicoid adapter that I recommend, based on your specific camera system. I have much experience with this implementation.
    HERE'S MY SHORT STORY:
Over the years, I have acquired a good number of these Kyoei / Kuribayashi clones/variants, due to my growing passion for UV and IR photography.
Given that these lenses are of vintage design (from the 1950's!), even the better-condition specimens may exhibit minor imperfections attributed to lenses of such age, such as some tiny dust particles between the glass elements, for instance, or a few
shallow surface abrasions on the rear-element glass but do not negatively impact image quality in any noticeable way (inconsequential)
. I only sell FUNCTIONAL specimens, regardless of their degree of prior use. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed, or you are welcome to ship these items back to me for a refund of the price. No fuss, no drama, no negative experiences. (I am all about reasoned, level-headed Ebay relationships and I aim to please my customers.)
    So, these lenses are certainly
    not
perfect, keep that in mind (e.i. scuffing and/or paint loss on the external cosmetics, insignificant amount of grease on the aperture blades, minor coating rubs/abrasions, etc., etc.), but they still have a lot of life left in them and are even likely to outlive you and I, given their remarkably durable build. (All metal! They surely don't make them like THIS, any longer.) Bottom line is that they continue to produce BEAUTIFUL image results. Mechanically and optically, there is NO consequential impediment on performance. Again - I ONLY sell functional specimens that work as they are intended to, and that's really what's important.
I am going to be selling these off, now, as I have no rational reason to hold on to them and hoard them.
Grab them at this deep discount, while you can! Especially since I am also including a UV-pass/IR-block optical filter stack, making this an economical UV starter kit! The pricing essentially breaks down to per lens, and per filter (Two filters = ), for a total of 9! I believe that you will not find a better bargain anywhere on Ebay (or beyond), for this lens/filter combo.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED A UV-CAPABLE MODIFIED DIGITAL CAMERA
For those who are newcomers to ultraviolet photography, obtaining this UV-capable lens and two-filter bundle is vital to completing your accessories for the process, however you will also require a properly-modified digital camera body (usually "full spectrum"-converted camera) in order to be
able to effectively image pure ultraviolet-wavelength light with the sensor.
As for camera compatibility: This T-mount "clone" variant is a full-frame lens! Hence, it can be adapted to many digital ILC's (interchangeable-lens cameras),
from Full-Frame sensor format and smaller!
If you seek assistance/information in what this process entails, you are always welcome to contact me and open up a communication, for the pertinent guidance. I am always happy and eager to help, in any way I can, as by Ebay dealings go well beyond deriving a mere income, but also stems from a deep passion of mine in the spirit of science and artistry.
ABOUT THE OPTICAL FILTER-STACKING SET, INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE
    1.
    UV-PASS FILTER
    :
    2mm-thick
    ZWB1
optical glass, mounted in 52mm-threaded filter ring (to fit the 52mm threading that I modified for the Kyoei Kuribayashi lens):
This is essentially a more cost-effective alternative to Schott UG-11 or Hoya U-340. While it is not
    exactly
identical to the UV transmission of UG-11 or U-340 glass (which is far more expensive), it is a suitable substitute - albeit at somewhat longer exposure times (typically by a fraction of a second difference, in bright sunlight). So it is meant to be a more economical option, yet still quite capable (which reflects its more reasonable price). I have been using the ZWB1 UV-pass optical glass for several years, now, and it sufficiently meets my needs. (The images seen in this ad can be obtained using the same filters being sold.) What's more, unlike some of the more expensive UV-pass optical glass out there, ZWB1 UV-pass optical glass does not seem to rapidly oxidize over time. Whereas, there are some types of more expensive UV-pass optical glass (including some types of Schott glass) that will develop a corroded, clouded, and obstructive oxidative film layer on its surface, over time, requiring re-polishing and/or treatment of the glass surface. Thus, because ZWB1 UV-pass optical glass appears more RESISTANT to such oxidation, this is actually an
    advantage
, and it adds further long-term value to this already economical alternative to Schott glass!
    2.
    IR-BLOCK FILTER
    :
    2.5mm-thick
    BG39
optical glass, mounted in 52mm-threaded filter ring (to fit the 52mm threading that I modified for the Kyoei Kuribayashi lens):
Not quite as superior in transmission peaks to Schott S8612, but still much better than Schott BG38 and BG40. In fact, I am of the opinion that Schott BG39 is only SECOND in desirable transmission levels to Schott S8612. And similarly to Schott S8612, it is a very aggressive IR-blocking glass, virtually eliminating any risk of IR contamination in your UV-only photographs (when cut to sufficient thickness, which is the case in my sale). However, BG39 is more cost effective, compared to Schott S8612.
    COMBINE THESE TWO FILTERS
    (
    ZWB1
    &
    BG39
filters stacked together) onto the Kyoei Kuribayashi lens, to obtain
    UV
    -only images. Or, use the
    BG39
    filter by itself (sans the
    ZWB1
    filter) to obtain "normal" (
    visible
    -wavelength) images.
By including this optical filter set in this sale, you are effectively getting a very usable and competent
    UV  STARTER KIT
, thus gaining the ability to take
    UV
    -WAVELENGTH and
    VISIBLE
    -WAVELENGTH comparison images!
    MY PRICING IS REASONABLE
For , you are getting the PROVEN and TRUSTED specimen
of a Kyoei / Kuribayashi lens. One that is certainly not brand new (
used), but functionally capable and also modified with some custom improvements. Albeit, it is a clone/variant in T-mount design, which makes it more versatile, compared to the first-generation fixed-mount version.
For just an extra per filter (two filters = ), you are getting an UNBEATABLE starter kit for UV photography work!
That's 9 for the entire set!
Finally, my flat shipping cost of (when shipped to ANYWHERE in the United States) is also reasonable, considering that I include FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE to protect both you, and myself, from any unfortunate shipping accidents.
(NOTE: Shipping costs will vary considerably, when dealing with INTERNATIONAL postage, as opposed to domestic.)
I TAKE MY SELLER-BUYER RELATIONSHIPS VERY SERIOUSLY
You will NEVER find any serious issues with the used lenses that I sell. (No fungus, internal haze, cracked glass, etc.) I would NEVER feel comfortable about selling any lens specimen that I wouldn't want to use for myself. THAT is the measure of my lens assessing. Certainly, w
hile such lenses are "oldies" (but goodies), I take the time to individually disassemble any lens with fungus/mold/haze (when present), remove it using the proper cleaning techniques, thus restoring the lens to a functional caliber of use.
Furthermore, I pack each lens and filter starter kit with the utmost care and protection in mind, not only padding the lens and filters to shield them from the bumps and bruises of long-distance travel, but also complete sealing from moisture/humidity, too! (I utilize air-tight packaging materials, and humidity-absorbing desiccant packets.) Thus, this is about as big of a bargain as you will get! You can therefore be certain that your investment is protected to the utmost level of care in mind. I don't mess around!
    To be clear:
I want to be a fair and transparent individual in all of my dealings.
I am a reasonable person and I seek to form level-headed and honest relationships with other Ebay members, in order to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual trust between buyer and seller. I feel that so long as both, the buyer
    and
the seller, conduct such relationships (through mutual understanding), then there is nothing that cannot be resolved.
    PLEASE REMEMBER .....
You will need a "full-spectrum-modified" camera in order to make proper use of this lens and filter set. Thus, it is implied that you are well-rounded and properly-trained in understanding how to obtain and implement such mandatory devices and accessories, in order to use this lens and filter set for their stated use.
