Description:
Presented for your consideration is this neat vintage flying saucer toy. The tin litho, battery operated toy is in the shape of a flying saucer with a red-orange body and cut out holes inside a white band around the outer edge. On the top of the toy are two antennas that flank a clear plastic dome. At the back of the dome is a half disc with red and blue lights on it. Underneath the dome is a very detailed tin litho astronaut at the controls of the UFO. On the bottom are two sets of wheels. One set is stationery while the other set is on a rotating platform. Also on the bottom of the UFO is the battery door. The toy takes D batteries but is not currently working. The door to the batteries is marked with "Japan." The back of the astronaut is marked with "KO Made in Japan." KO was a brand manufactured by Yoshiya. The toy is guaranteed to be old. Dates to the 1950s. This hard to find toy displays beautiful detail throughout and would make a great addition to any antique or vintage toy collection!
The tornado shaped whirligig is missing on the top. As previously stated the toy is not currently working. Some light scuffing is on one side. Typical light wear from age and play. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 7 1/2" in diameter and 4 1/4" tall.
