  • Condition: Box is only partial and has wear and tear. Helmet itself is in good used condition but does have some light surface scratches, tiny cracks on the right side of the inside rim (shown in photo 6), and a broken tail fin (blue piece near the pinwheel). Despite the cracks, the helmet is solid. Foil pinwheel has good form to it but has some wear that can be seen in many of the photos. Elastic strap included.     Description

    Vintage Space Pilot Helmet made by Tarco Toys/The Tarrson Toy Company (Chicago, Illinois) from the 1950s. The Space Pilot Helmet was called the “Planetary” Toy for a “Space-Flight” Boy. When it was placed on your head, you could “sound like whizzing through space when you ride your bike, roller skate, run or coast in your wagon.” There are some condition issues to this very old toy (nearly antique!).
